document.writeln('a fresh north westerly wind stirring the waters of Deersound, a good day for a ');

document.writeln('Visability is about 19miles so we can just see the ');
document.writeln('Pentland Skeries light house. The skies are ');
document.writeln('clearing as I write so it looks like being a sunny day

document.writeln('Our dog Brock is waiting patiently for his morning ');
document.writeln('excercise watching the birds in the garden bird bath from the kitchen ');
document.writeln('window.

document.writeln('Overnight rain has cleared and I\'m spoilt for ');
document.writeln('choice today as our boat is painted and ready for the sea and mackerel have been ');
document.writeln('caught from Scapa pier,
');
document.writeln('so a tough decision to be made today , fishing or ');
document.writeln('sailing?
');
document.writeln('This year there have been numerous sightings of ');
document.writeln('orca (killer whales) in Orkney waters, which have probably eaten their ');
document.writeln('share of mackerel on the way here.

document.writeln('An oyster catcher has just hatched 2 chicks from a ');
document.writeln('nest in our lower field and pipistrel bats have been seen near here in the early ');
document.writeln('hours this week.
');
document.writeln('At this time of year we have only around 2 ');
document.writeln('hours of semi darkness before the sun starts to rise again a pleasant ');
document.writeln('change from Orkney\'s long winter nights.
');
